My students need books in order to develop comprehension skills. As well as, develop a love for reading and enhance their vocabulary and discussion skills.
“We breathe in our first language, and swim in our second.” ‒Adam Cufic Everyday we encounter success, frustration and struggles. Many of my students are English language learners and work hard to understand and strengthen their reading, language and writing skills.
My students are English language learners and come to school daily eager to learn and experience new adventures.
They are cooperate and ready to be successful learners. Our school is in a low income neighborhood and we are short many supplies. We have a supportive staff and administration. Unfortunately, we do not have the supplies needed to make our lessons and support come alive. My students are eager to learn and grow as lifelong readers. Having these books as part of our classroom instruction will open up their minds and introduce them to a plethera of vocabulary. In addition, my students will be able to make connections and expand their comprehension.
My Project
My students need books to work collaboratively and develop reading and vocabulary skills. Books highly motivate them and allow them to develop a love for reading. Together we can read and create fun learning projects to develop all reading skills. Books allow adventures to come alive and truly engage students to want to learn and read. "Wonder" will make a difference in my classroom. Students have a sense of ownership and can pair and independent read. These books will allow my students to work at home and allow myself as an educator to create meaningful lessons in which we could all come together and share.
