This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have been teaching for over 10 years. During this time I have utilized flexible seating. Flexible seating provides students with opportunities for choice and fosters critical decision making. This student-centered environment fits well with a collaborative learning style and effective student engagement with diverse groups of learners. I have been able to find or buy various flexible seating options for my classroom, however, with time, they have become worn down with daily wear and tear, especially the items handed down or found.
Our flexible seating options need an update!
The new wobble chairs are perfect for kids who need to move while they work. The come in two different sizes for the diversity of the classroom. The office chairs are adjustable and create a comfortable way for students to work in small collaborative groups. The starfish ball chairs not only add comfort, but also posture control and a little wiggle space.
My students love our flexible learning environment! Please assist me in upgrading some of our furniture, so that we can continue to thrive in our learning, this year and next. Your generosity means so much to us!
