My students need basic art supplies of crayons, paper, markers, colored pencils, etc. to let their creativity flow in class. They also need a few bean bag chairs to help create flexible seating.
My incoming students for September ROCK! They are a bright group of students coming into a Gifted Classroom Setting. They have worked super hard all the way from Kindergarten to 4th Grade and are entering 5th Grade this September as Seniors and Leaders of the school. These boys and girls are resilient, even though they're at a disadvantage economically speaking. These kids are super ready to grow and learn however our physical classroom lacks basic supplies necessary to help their creativity flow.
My Project
If our project is fully funded my students will be the recipients of EQUITY. They will have some of what they need to become one step-closer to becoming successful, independent, and positive contributors to society. Since my classroom lacks computers the students will participate in many "unplugged activities" which require art supplies. Unplugged activities are basically a collection of learning activities that teach Computer Science through engaging games, projects, and puzzles that use cards, string, crayons, markers, etc. For example, when learning about binary computing systems students will create code using markers and paper. Or when learning about pixels they can re-create simple images incorporating pixels, made out of graph paper and crayons.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
