This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My diverse learners are bright, motivated, and one-of-a-kind individuals. They put a smile on my face each and every day, and they all enjoy coming to school and succeeding in the classroom. I feel so blessed to be their special education teacher, and I am lucky to work in such a rewarding field.
Ninety-five percent of our school is considered low-income and receives free or reduced-price lunch.
The student body consists of sixty-five percent Latino, thirty percent African-American, and five percent Caucasian. Even though it has become extremely difficult and sometimes frustrating to educate without needed supplies, our students still come to school eager to learn.

My Project
My students are working hard in our math centers using games and manipulatives to practice skills they have previously learned in a guided math lesson. Even though they are working hard each day at school, I would love to support my diverse learners at home as well. In order to do so, I would like to create math folders for each student to use at home for additional practice on the skills they have learned at school.
Each student would have their own math folder with unique and challenging math problems inserted into the sleeves.
The plastic sleeves would make the activities reusable every year. Math is such an important part of the day that helps my
students build confidence and problem solving skills. I am asking for ink and plastic sleeves to help ensure my students can practice on the appropriate skills at home.
