Do you remember when the only way you could check out books was going to a library? Well, my students won't have to with an e-Reader.
My students don't have access to a public library afterschool since most of them don't get picked up from school until 6 p.m.
because their parents work. Our school library is great, but with a limited schedule and 1200 students in our school, it's often challenging for my students to read a book of their choice.
My Project
With an e-Reader, not only will my students be able to "choose" a book, it will inspire my students to read and will be a reward for many of my students who are struggling readers and just need a little more inspiration to look for a book that will interest them.
An e-Reader would be such an inspirational tool for my students who speak a second language and for my students who are still not on grade level.
A tool where I can test their fluency levels during "center time" would also be a time saving piece in my daily instruction!
