This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come from one of the most economically distressed parts of our city. Every day, they overcome challenges in their community, families and their individual lives. These challenges include single parent (or even "zero" parent) homes, violence, poverty and discrimination.
Despite the fact they face many obstacles, they are determined to get the education that will lift them out of poverty and set them on the path to new horizons.
They need to have a rich background of literacy and critical thinking to successfully complete their journey.
My Project
My students will use these to listen to lectures, educational video clips, audio books and other educational sources that use sound to present educational material.
The headpphones will add another interactive dimension to their lessons.
Education long ago moved beyond traditional presentations in lectures and books to include multi-media sources. Without headphones, our students are limited in regards to lessons with sound to whole class presentations.
The headphones you will provide use allows students to work at their own pace. They can do research that includes sounds without disturbing other students in their research.
Please consider our students' needs as they explore the world of sight and sound in their learning.
