This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When I was a kid, the Commodore 64 fascinated me and taught me so much! Back then it was rare to have the new technology of a computer in your home, let alone in your classroom! Oh my, how times have changed!
I teach 18 wonderful and inquisitive Pre-K children in a high-need area.
They absolutely love using our old computer on a daily basis to learn important academic concepts such as shapes, colors, numbers, and letters through outdated computer games. BUT, it is time to move forward and use the new technology that exists out there to learn!
My Project
In this day and age it is absolutely essential for children of all ages and economic backgrounds to have access to the newest technology. An iPad teaches so much through the wonderful apps that are available and it is easier for little fingers to use than the computer! The children will use the iPad for learning shapes, colors, identifying numbers, counting, problem solving, identifying letters and sounds through developmentally appropriate apps and games. They will learn important academic skills for their age level as well as learn how to use new technology. All children, even ones whose families cannot afford iPads at home, deserve to have the same access to technology that will propel them forward into their academic careers. You can help my students do that!
I am also requesting a wireless keyboard as well as a smart case to keep our iPad safe.
It is a new era and all classrooms should have current technology.
Unfortunately, due to severe budget cuts that is simply not possible. With the help of generous donors like you, it can absolutely be a possibility! Please donate to the children of my class so they can have the best education tools out there. Thank you so much!
