My students need dissection kits; I would really love for them to have a nice set of tools to use, which are clean, safe, and professional.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Weiss's classroom raised $458

My goal as a teacher is to inspire kids to create a community through science, which will lead them to college and beyond.
Since adding a biology course for college-bound and highly skilled Freshmen, we have discovered that we don't have nearly the supplies we need to include the number and types of activities I want to do with them. They love hands-on science. They call each other "Doctor". A lot of my kids don't have much -- we're a high needs school, and our funding (like everyone else) is being cut. Their experience in high school could change the way they view themselves, and could open some doors for them which lead out of poverty. I believe that science could help open those doors.
I would love to get more lab tools for the kids. Not only will it allow for more accurate work and increased learning, it will make them feel better about themselves if they have better tools. It will teach them to be more professional, and expose them early on to lab work -- conducted with appropriate equipment.
Your help could change my students' views about science and about themselves. I became a teacher because I wanted to change my community, even if it was one kid at a time. You could help make our community better.
