This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine students sitting on a cold tile floor. Now, imagine them sitting on a dirty 20 year old rug that has seen better days. Please help my students obtain a new classroom rug!
My TK students are a wonderful bunch who are eager to learn and put forth great effort in class with the materials we currently have.
I work with students who have autism, students with specific learning disabilities, and speech-language impairments. My students attend an elementary school where close to 70% of our students are English Language Learners and 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. This classroom rug has individual squares for each of my students to sit on. It will be great for my students to have a designated spot for them to sit on the classroom rug. A classroom rug with a specific spot for each student to sit on is a helpful classroom management tool. Having a designated spot on the rug will help my students focus when we meet together instead of moving around each chance they get. It will also help them with their personal space. The rug will be used throughout the day during many classroom activities such as calendar time, read aloud, and whole group lessons.

Please help my TK students by contributing to a rug for this school year.
With the help of generous donors, my students will continue to develop a love for learning while sitting on a comfortable rug.
