Help me give my students a great start to the 2024/2025 school year with a mobile standing desk for more engaging lessons, organizational tools for a structured classroom, and math supplies for academic success!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project contains items to help the school year get off to a great start! First and foremost, there is a portable computer desk. I have seen something similar in many teacher's classrooms and am excited to add this element to my room as a document camera station in the front of the classroom that can be used to project physical materials such as textbooks, but it can also transfer images of student work directly onto my Smartboard. This has always been a cumbersome task because of the location of the document camera, but with the computer desk, the location will allow for the use of the camera to be much more efficient.
Along with the computer desk to help my students stay more engaged in their work, I have chosen organizational tools that give students structure and can improve academic outcomes!
On special bulletin boards, students will display work that shows growth with the wood push pins. Students will take responsibility for turning in their own homework and classwork by using the hanging file folders labeled and oftentimes, the work will need to be hole-punched for future use in a binder. Command strips will be used to hang projects created on the art paper.
Academically, math is a focus of this DonorsChoose project. Dry-erase number lines will start the year helping students with addition and subtraction (and the erasers will come in handy). And the multiplication fact posters will be displayed throughout the school year to aid in all areas of fourth-grade math.
This is a great project to get the school year started and I am excited for the new fourth graders that will benefit once again from DonorsChoose!
