My students need an organized area with storage to set up their listening center! They desperately need something to "put things where they go".

My Students
By the end of the school year, I would love for my students to be grade level fluent readers while comprehending grade level stories/skills!
Listening to books read aloud is a favorite for many students including mine, and it helps with fluency and comprehension!
:)!
My first grade students are an awesome group of active children who are caring, talented, and motivated to learn!
I feel blessed to teach them.
They amaze me every day with their progress in learning to read, their artistic ability to illustrate a story, and even the vocabulary words they choose to include in their writing.
My students have started their second year at Pecan Park Elementary. It can be described as a school that has fostered a love of learning by providing various enriching experiences for all children. It is a place where you will see students engaged in different types of learning, so that all children have the opportunity to succeed.
My Project
By funding this project, my first grade students would be able to quickly choose audio books and headphones during their listening center time. In this center, they are in groups and actively listening to a story.
Having this storage unit would increase the amount of time spent on listening to stories on tape. Therefore, increasing time spent on reading skills and reader response logs.
By donating, my students could smoothly transition to a listening center that they could manage on their own!
This would decrease time spent on getting headphones out, untangling them, and finding book bags from another area! It would help them feel like they are in a real listening center, and it could possibly motivate them even more!
Overall, I can't stress how much more time they will have on listening to stories to increase comprehension!
