My Students

My scholars attend our Philadelphia public school, where 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My students are truly some of the most inquisitive intrinsically motivated learners I have ever had the pleasure of teaching.

All of our students live below the poverty line and are reading below grade level. We have many students in foster homes and some in shelters. Please help me provide the tools they need to close the achievement and increase reading levels.

My Project

Students will be able to improve their reading accuracy and fluency by listening to the text and silently reading along with it. The reading activity centers will help my students practice reading strategies such as letter blending, rhyming and segmenting words. Students will also use these headphones while researching topics such as the weather and Civil Rights Movement during social studies and science time. The headphones allow students to concentrate and focus on their work.

These donations will help wonderful third grade scholars grow as readers and leaders while building their confidence!

While using the blended learning model students will use headphones to access tablets and computers during center time for individualized lessons with audio.

Once students believe in themselves they will achieve great things. Thank you for your consideration of my project and for donating to it.
