My students are my babies...I want the world for them!
I teach three and four-year-old students with disabilities in the inner city.
My students have a range of disabilities including autism, physical handicaps, and developmental delays. 99% of the student population receive free or reduced price breakfast and lunch. My students are inquisitive, energetic, and most importantly full of questions. They are future nurses, doctors, scientist, police, and leaders. I believe in every one of my students' futures and want to provide a solid and supportive start to their education.
My Project
Every year we begin the school year with an All About Apple Theme in our classroom. We learn about apples and farming. We are lucky to live close to several Apple Orchards in New England.
However our school has no budget for field trips!
It would be incredible to be able to take my students to an actual apple orchard in New England. My students have very little opportunity to experience the amazing area in which we live. Most have never been apple picking. It would be incredible to take the students to an actual apple orchard to pick apples while we are studying about apples.
More than half of students from low‑income households
