Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a public elementary school in Northern California. Our school is in a low income area which does come with some challenges. However, depsite these challenges our students are a terrific group of children excited to come to school every day. Our school provides a safe and caring environment for our students to thrive.
I have a wonderful group of first graders this year.
They come to school eager to learn, play and grow every day. They are excited to be in school and I try to make our classroom an interesting, safe and engaging place for them to develop their minds.
My Project
Field trips can be so educational, exciting and fun for young learners. This spring we are trying to organize a trip to the Aquarium Of The Bay in San Francisco. For many of our students this will be a rare opportunity to enrich their learning and experience of the wider world. So often it's trips like these that our students remember for years to come.
Our students deserve a chance to have the field trip experience as part of their education!
Sadly, due to budget cuts there is no money for field trips in our district. For this field trip everything except the bus is already taken care of. All we need to do is get a bus funded.
