My students need various classroom decorations including bulletin board border, decorative accents and assorted signs and charts to beautify our classroom environment.
What was your second grade classroom like? If it was anything like mine, it was boring and dull; a typical public school classroom in the 90's. If you look at classrooms today, many of them are beautiful and colorful, creating an inviting environment for students.
My students crave a beautiful and inviting learning environment.
They tend to respond better to bright and colorful environments rather than dull classrooms. My students are going into second grade in a school in New York City. In public school classrooms, there is only so much that you can change around to help beautify the room. In order to have a warm and inviting learning atmosphere, a teacher of today must decorate the room on her own. Due to severe budget cuts, my school is unable to provide teachers with many of the needed supplies to make my classroom a beautiful place for my students.
My Project
By donating to this project, you will help provide various classroom decorations including bulletin board border, decorative accents and assorted signs and charts. I have stuck with a colorful "monster" theme and I know that my students would love it. I would give anything to see their faces light up with joy, upon arriving in our classroom and seeing what a beautiful place it would be to learn. By helping to take this somewhat boring room and allowing me to beautify for my students, they will learn to be proud of their "home" and the places where they spend their time. By having such an incredible learning environment, I hope to teach my students the importance of taking care of their surroundings and taking pride in keeping things looks beautiful. In addition, by helping to provide these classroom decorations and supplies, you will allow me to give my students the opportunity to be an active part of beautifying their classroom environment.
If you think back to your own second grade classroom and remember it being dull and boring, think about how your experience might have been different in a colorful and inviting environment!
Please help me to provide this type of classroom to my students; a classroom that they will never, ever forget!
