Please Help These Little New Yorkers Get To Broadway!

My students need to experience the incredible cultural opportunities in their hometown of New York City! We are requesting tickets to see "Matilda".

My Students

Have you ever been to a Broadway show? Do you remember the excitement of sitting in your seat waiting for that curtain to rise and the music to begin? If so, than you truly understand and value the importance of participating in experiences that raise your cultural awareness.

I teach 32 first graders in a school in New York.

My students are in the Gifted and Talented class and crave enriching experiences. My school has lost thousands of dollars due to budget cuts, so trips to Broadway are completely out of the question. My school is a mix of students that come from low-income and middle-class families. My students thrive on learning through music, play and dramatic arts.

My Project

Broadway is so close, yet, for some of my students, it is so far! Many of my students have never been to a Broadway show, due to the cost of these shows. I would like to give my students the best gift ever; the gift of a Broadway show. Every year, I read the book Matilda to my students as a read-aloud. How great would it be if they could see the book come alive on a Broadway stage? Only you can help that dream become a reality!

It is so important for students living in New York to take full advantage of everything their community has to offer.

Broadway is one of the best ways to show students the world around them. I am positive that this experience will live in their hearts and memories forever. I would love to be the person that introduces these amazing children to Broadway and the incredibly enriching experience of theater. Will you please help me do this for my students?
