Help me give my students the gift of choice in reading. We know that students that develop as readers will experience more success in all content areas. They also have the pleasure of reading books they like. Thanks!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are Special Education high school students with a variety of severe needs. The majority of them have learning, emotional and/or behavioral disabled. The majority are from low-income inner-city families. Even though it may seem the odds are stacked up against them, they are truly great kids with bright promising futures. If given the right guidance and tools their future goals could be achieved. With our great teaching staff and your support, these children could become promising future leaders.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Our classroom library is a place that I wish to make more inviting to our hesitant readers by providing choices in genres and titles that they like. It is my goal to encourage them to read daily and independently! With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
The titles have been selected by the students as they hope to be able to read and share the books we gain in our library.
