My Students
My class is part of an ethnically diverse school in Brooklyn, New York. We have children from many different cultures in our class and children with many special abilities. Many of my students have a variety of challenges both in and out of the classroom.
This year will be especially challenging for my students, as this will be their first year of school - most of which will be taught remotely for them.
They are learning about themselves, others, school rules, routines, and many new concepts in various subjects!
My Project
Due to Covid-19 I will be teaching remotely in an ICT environment and will need visual tools to help my students learn. I will have between 18-24 kids in my class during this upcoming school year.
I will be using magnets and other visuals to help the children with math, ELA and other subjects.
Visuals and manipulative skills are truly important for children with special needs and for all the children who need a lot of modeling to help with their learning. These materials will be vital for my students so that they can understand these academic concepts appropriately.
