My students would love 24 copies of the book, "Smart About the Presidents" and 24 copies of the book, "Smart About the First Ladies".
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Melissa's classroom raised $376
This project is fully funded
I teach a phenomenal group of fourth graders in Brooklyn. who just recently became interested in learning about America's presidents.
The upcoming election has really inspired my students to learn more about the past presidents. When I say, inspired - I mean they are obsessed! They have been clamoring to borrow my copy of "Smart About The Presidents" and they love peppering their conversations with presidential trivia. I love picking them up from lunch and hearing them say things like, "Did you know that William Taft was the president that started the tradition of throwing the first baseball of the professional season?" It's really amazing to witness how excited they are to learn about this topic!
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time for "extras" such as this because our schedules are extremely tight and I have a lot of mandated curriculum to cover. I want my students to have the opportunity to continue to love learning about this topic, but I don't have enough time to delve into this topic as deeply as I would like to. They would love to have their own copy of "Smart About the Presidents." I would also like them to learn about our country's first ladies since they have been very active and influential Americans as well. My students would devour their own copies of "Smart About The Presidents" and "Smart About the First Ladies."
Your help will make it possible for my students to continue to love learning about American history during this historic election year while also improving their literacy skills as well. Your help will also help build our classroom community because they will be able to share information with each other and quiz each other on Presidential and First Lady trivia. My students would be ecstatic to own their own copies of these books.
