Please Help Fund our Field Trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium
My students need transportation to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It will be a great hands-on experience for all of our students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember your first time at an aquarium? Most of our students who live in our CA city (high poverty) has never even stepped foot into an aquarium. Our school has 93% students receiving free lunch. 95% are English Language Learners who enter kindergarten with zero to limited English
My students are very curious about the ocean animals we are learning.
It will be so great to see their faces light up when they actually see the real live animals at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They have been very fascinated with the ocean thematic unit we have been working on. They want to know anything and everything about each ocean animal. We learn about their habitat and keep a journal of their 5 favorite ocean animals. This is a continuous process with their reading and writing skills. We have circle time in our kindergarten class, so we can share our ocean animals book.
My Project
If this grant is funded, we will be able to transport 56 students and 8 adults to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This will be a great field trip that they will never forget. There will be hands-on activities for them to do. They will get a chance to touch the bat rays and hermit crabs in the tide pool. They will be amazed with the orange jellyfishes that are floating in the water. They will be speechless seeing the hammer shark swim fiercely in the tank.
This is my 10th year teaching in this district.
There are many challenges teaching in a high poverty area. The school district continues to have massive budget cuts. Please make this dream come true by funding this trip and inspiring our students to become the next marine biologists, doctors, veterinarians, engineers, and etc...
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
