Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to apply for this amazing grant! During the pandemic, we all saw the impact it has on society; socially, emotionally and economically. We in the schools, are now seeing the impact. Students are dysregulated more frequently and we are having to cope and try different strategies to help improve more than normal disruptive behaviors. Because of these disrupted behaviors, the impact of learning has been difficult.
I teach at a Title I school.
It is extremely hard to work in an environment where lack of money is a constant issue for parents, students and teachers/admin. This grant would help me work with students who are on a daily basis having struggles emotionally. I have never seen a 3rd grader having to take care of her 2 year old sibling because of struggles at home, until now. I want to support students like her. That is why I am in this position.
I want to help students that don't have a way out except coming to school for a positive influence. I am representing these students. Please help me in reaching my goal to help students feel happier, to fill their tummies and to give them a safe place to learn. That is why I am asking for this grant of a social emotional activity kit, timers, snacks, and more.
