I am a special education teacher, an art teacher, and a Co-Teacher of ICT classes of science in a Title One School. I also teach after school as the Literacy and Art teacher. My school is struggling in reading and math and need many different teaching styles. I teach them using a hands-on approach using art for engagement. My students are very creative and learn best through hands-on projects. I've tied many core subjects to the arts with great success.
My Project
I am an art teacher without an art cart or classroom. I have amazing projects that I want to do with my classes, but can't get the supplies up and down four flights of stairs.
I carry my paints and brushes, as well as my lesson plans and paper, in a plastic crate.
My students love engaging lessons, yet I can only bring in certain items due to the weight of the crate in my arms.
My students need assorted supplies to be brought to their classrooms on an art cart. I need help to get it to them so that I can give them the correct assortment of materials to be able to do the project in mind. If we had an art cart, I would be able to make the students hit their art standards in the Blueprints for Visual Arts connections to core subjects. We really appreciate your help.
