This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Rhythm is an important part of music, and I am always trying to create new and fun ways to help my students develop their rhythm skills.
These items will help me to implement new games into our classroom.
The Jenga games will come in handy. On each block, a rhythm will be placed. When my students pick a block to move, they will read the rhythm on the block that they pulled before placing it on the top. This will help them to develop their rhythm reading skills. The Go Fishing game will help them to develop their reading and composing skills. On the belly of each fish, there will be a music note. They can read the rhythm they create after catching four or more fish. For an extra challenge, they can combine their fish with the fish that are caught by the other players. The cups and the ping pong balls will be used to create another rhythm game that will help to develop my students' rhythm reading and composing skills.
All together, these items and games will be used as fun new ways to help teach the rhythm skills that my students work on in music class!
