Help me give my students a touch of the past with authentic games from the early colonists. Students will enjoy learning by actively exploring toys and games, that run on brainpower- not electronics or batteries!

My Students
Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and ability levels. Our school is a Title I school, and we have many English Language Learners. Many students come from a disadvantaged background. and are facing economic challenges.
There is a wide range of individual needs from students with learning disabilities, behavioral, speech and language disorders to students with Autism.
Despite these challenges, we all put forth our best efforts every day, making the most of the supplies we have been given!
My Project
Students will actively explore colonial games and toys with authentic reproductions of 17th and 18th century toys. These games run on brainpower-not electronics or batteries!
Students will learn skill and patience as they try to master old world challenges.
Games were an important way to learn patience and life skills- all while having fun. All players will be transported back in time as they engage in play. Students today have a hard time imagining what life was like during the colonial times, and these hands-on experiences will allow them to imagine living in the 1700s.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
