This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you like to play games? We do!! At the same time we play, we learn as well! I teach twenty 3rd grade students in a low-income area at a charter school that receives a lower amount of funding than public schools for extra learning materials.
My students are looking to play exciting board games during them earned free time. Since we have a limited fund amount, the selection for fun, strategizing games is poor.
Games such as Monopoly, Boggle Jr., and Scrabble are not only fun but they show students how the skills we learn in class are applied in real life situations. Problem solving, team work, real estate investments, friendly competitiveness and strategy are all skills my students can improve through playing these games.
Your support will give these students a chance to have these classic games assist in their overall educational experience. Remember when you were playing Monopoly and just bought Park Place? *Smile* Ready..Set..PLAY!!!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
