My students need RIP-IT face masks to stay safe and play with confidence!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Lincoln's classroom raised $241
This project is fully funded
My Students
My athletes are from a small town in mid-coast Maine. I have the pleasure of being able to teach in the same school that I coach at. My athletes are a kind, funny, and hardworking group of young ladies.
Being their coach, I am able to see a competitive side of the ladies on my softball team that doesn't always show in the classroom, a passion for something they love, and for some, trying something new for the first time.
Being involved in athletics is a new experience for some, but the thing I love that most is that it can bring out the full potential of students who may not do so well in the classroom. I have seen what athletics can do for motivation to do well in the classroom. When the girls are playing, I want to make sure they have the equipment they need to be successful on the field.
My Project
My softball team is composed of many girls that have never played the sport before. Currently living in Maine, our softball team is practicing in the gym using incrediballs (soft, squishy softballs), which are far from what an actual softball is like. Because we have been in the gym practicing, I am afraid that once we get playing outside with a real softball, the confidence of my players will fall.
Most of our athletes have never played softball before.
They are excited to learn and want to be able to play to the best of their ability!
To help my players play to the best of their ability, the RIP-IT faceguards will help my athletes stay safe against serious injuries to the face from a bad hop or line drive, gain confidence, and stay focused on the game.
