Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom is a shared home for 24 students from kindergarten to second grade. All of them are excited to learn English as a second language and share their own stories.
My school is Title I.
The majority of my students have only been in the United States for less than two years. These students are ethnically diverse, and all of them have a different story to tell.
My students are English language learners who are building new vocabulary and learning how to read and write. All of my students are building their confidence as they learn English as a second language, and I am committed to making it fun for them. All 24 of my students are ready to jump into new and fun learning experiences while building their knowledge.
My goal is to build a welcoming classroom environment where noise comes from rich conversations and peer collaboration while we are all learning from each other and sharing a room.
The speaker system will enable me to reinforce teaching through videos, use students' favorite songs as transition signs, and play instrumental music while students are working independently, all of which will contribute to effective classroom management. I will use the English Language Learner games in centers and enrichment activities, allowing students to work in groups while I instruct other grades. I will also be able to develop lessons that are engaging and relevant to my students.
This project will transform my students' identities as learners. Each kid will be able to develop his or her own knowledge by actively participating.
