My Project
My students are curious, energetic 3, 4, and 5-year-olds. Many of the families at my school are immigrants from various places around the world. Many are new to the country. 100% of our amazing students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students are transient or refugees, and we have some students experiencing homelessness. Like all families, they want the best for their students. Most of my students are English Language Learners and students with special needs. With these resources, I will help my students develop their oral language skills and their English language development in the ways that are most developmentally appropriate.
Alphabet puppets are a great resource to introduce students to the letters of the alphabet.
Students will have fun playing with the alligator puppet and making the connection to the letter A and the sound of the letter A. They will have something tangible to hold and see as they learn about the letters with the other puppets, like the firefighter, the doctor, and the lion. I will also use the puppets to introduce the letter of the week and to host discussions about the letter and its sound. Helping to make each letter more memorable and enjoyable to learn about.
