This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are inner city learners (ages 3-5) in Boston with and without special needs. They are either students on IEPs receiving extra supports or peer models in the classroom. They represent different cultures and abilities.

Early intervention is key to success, and my job is to ensure that these young learners get the supports they need in order to be prepared for the rest of their schooling.

My Project

I believe our inner-city inclusion pre-K program should have the same supplies as other successful programs. Please donate to give my students the toys that will make learning FUN and successful. Let them play with dolls that represent their own skin colors and food that represents what is in their kitchens at home.

My own special-needs child had a great experience in inclusion pre-K, and I want our program to provide a similar experience to my students.

For a decade, I have worked with ESL and Special Education students. This year, I am transitioning into an inclusion preschool classroom at my school, and I want to stock it with the supplies that will hook students into loving literacy, mathematics, science, social studies -- and most of all -- their community!
