Help me give my students the NewPath Learning Positions and Opposites Learning Center Game to develop the understanding of and demonstrate the concepts of spatial relationships and opposites.
My classroom is many of my students' first introduction to a structured learning environment, and teaching spatial concepts and opposites can become quite challenging when their receptive language (what they understand) is stronger than their expressive language (what they can say). Adding to that the daily task of teaching them to follow schedules, rules, and one-step directions, constitutes a very busy day. Children with cognitive disabilities learn best with concrete, hands-on experiences and struggle with abstract ideas. By integrating these carefully chosen resources into the daily lessons, I'll be providing my students with the tools and experiences they need to confidently navigate their learning environment and develop essential language and cognitive skills.
