Help me give my students manipulatives and fun toys to play with during centers. These items will improve the fine motor skills of the students and help with pre-writing skills.
Our early childhood special education classroom consists of children ranging from the ages of three to five years. My classroom is quite different from other classrooms. I share a trailer with two other teachers. We have designed an amazing facility to accommodate not two classrooms, but three. We accomplish this by rotating classes throughout the trailer. There are three designated areas for our children to learn and explore in. These rooms include centers, lesson, and circle time with work tubs.
Our students have many challenges to face and overcome in school and in life.
They live and go to school in a low economic area. Most of our children receive free or reduced-price lunch. It is my responsibility and honor to provide as much as I can for these children who have so little.
My Project
The materials will be used during center time to help improve fine motor skills, classification, counting, and prewriting skills. Some students are not blessed with many toys at home and school is the place where they can experience the joy of playing. Through play the students learn social skills, communication skills, and develop their fine motor skills.
Please help my students have the opportunity to explore and discover new skills with the materials listed.
The students and I would be so grateful to recieve the new supplies to incorporate into our centers.
