Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Play based learning is essential for students in Transitional Kindergarten in order for students to gain the much needed skills for reading, writing, and math in future grades. Children learn more by practicing skills through games with their peers.

By giving students learning games they can develop their literacy and math skills through play.

Students can also learn to regulate their emotions while playing learning games because they are learning how to take turns, follow rules, and celebrate each other even if they don't win. Students at my school do not get access to many opportunities for play based learning outside of the classroom, so it is essential to allow this practice to happen as often as I can. Donating to my project will allow me to do just that and allow students to have authentic learning experiences. Using tools like sorting cups, alphabet games and puzzles, fine motor skill games, and breathing tools for social emotional development will help students to learn the academic and social skills to thrive and learn.
