My Students

In my classroom you will find twenty smiling faces who have a true zeal for learning. As you can imagine, putting that many five and six-year-olds in a room together can get quite loud. If you walked by our door at any given moment of the day you would see children engaged in various activities helping them develop their craft as a student to become lifelong learners.

Kindergarten sets the tone for a child's school career and I aim to spark a love of learning in each of my children to last them a lifetime!

My Project

Learning what letters are and how we use them can be very difficult for some children. While there are little ones that have a positive preschool experience, other children come to school already behind due to limited exposure to language or formal instruction.

In kindergarten, we cannot forget that these students are children and the work of a child is to play.

The challenge becomes finding meaningful ways to make learning and play work together.

These materials will be used during reading rotations to help foster an understanding of the alphabet. The stamps, both dough and ink, will be used to explore how letters are put together to make words. During small group instruction, the children will use the alphabet tubs to explore items that begin with the letter of focus. Our brains love novelty and the alphabet robots provide a fun way to engage the children in play that also fosters learning.
