This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Play, Play, Play!!! Sometimes we forget how young children learn best. It is through play that Preschool children learn to understand the world around them.

I work in an active blended Pre-Kindergarten classroom with both special needs and ELL students.

Through play children are able to explore the world around them. Play is so important for young children and puppets help young children develop creative skills by having them use their imaginations. They make up the roles, the rules, the situations and the solutions. It is through imaginative play that children come to understand the differences between fantasy and reality.

My Project

My students are friendly and eager to learn. They LOVE to come to school and they love exploring the world around them and learning new things. It is more difficult for my students since many of them are ELL and/or special needs. More than ever they need puppets to help them develop their creative thinking skills and become comfortable expressing themselves. Many children communicate easily through puppets, giving them confidence to express their ideas and feelings.

Can you help me make story time with nursery rhymes more exciting for my preschoolers?

We need hands-on materials like puppets that are related to the nursery rhymes we read about in our classroom. My students love it when I act out scenes and puppets are a great way for me to do that while using a visual to add more fun.
