Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our soccer team has been the most successful program in Yuma county in the last 20 years, and is one of the most recognized soccer programs in the state. The phrase “Play like you practice” is hard to make sense for our athletes when the practice equipment is in bad shape.
During tryouts, our boys’ soccer team has over 100 student-athletes participating every year.
The players’ talent make it really difficult to select just a few players for the team, but it’s even more difficult when we don’t have enough equipment for every player to participate in the drills without so much wait time.
These soccer balls will help improve the training quality of the team and, with their amazing work ethic and perseverance, it could help them achieve the next level in state.
