My Project
My students have missed out on playing with others during crucial times in their development. By adding a dramatic play center to my first grade classroom, my students can learn through play. This will be extremely beneficial by adding in social/emotional practice throughout our day! They will incorporate our vocabulary words, writing center, and financial literacy all while pretending and participating. They will take turns, have different roles, and practice using good manners through different thematic units. Examples include a sandwich shop, bakery, farmers market, and veterinary clinic. We will incorporate so many learning standards while playing with each theme, connecting literacy, math, and economics all in one!
