My Students

The ability to maneuver objects independently is very important in the development of children. Our students need every opportunity we can give them to continue to try to work with their peers to develop those motor skills. Please help us.

Our students are wonderful!

They are ages 3-5 years old with autism, developmental delays, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, speech impairments, and hearing impairments, as well as, their typically developing peers. We also service some students who come from bilingual homes. We use a combination of play, literature, and specialized therapies to meet the diverse needs of our classroom.

My Project

We are in need of materials to help with tactile exploration and small motor skills. The ability to control your motor movements in purposeful ways is important developmentally. Varied materials will keep their interest high and as we all know, excited children "work" harder! We have requested Play-Doh and Play-Doh playsets to increase hand strength and manual dexterity. We will use these activities during play to increase these skills lacking in so many of our students.

Our students' needs are the driving force behind everything we do. These materials will help with small motor skills. We will add them into our center time activities.
