My Project
I love that when my students see me in the hallway, they call me Mrs. Art Teacher and say hello. They also asked what project they would do next and couldn't wait to attend art class. My students are unique because they come from culturally diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn about the arts.
I make it my mission to choose art activities with bright colors that help bring happiness.
I also incorporate activities using social-emotional learning strategies, which help my students feel calm, joyous, and relaxed. They are enthusiastic learners.
I have requested Play-Doh and tools for my pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and ESE cluster classes.
Think back to when you were small and had your first experience in art class. Do you remember the excitement of working with Play-Doh? Do you remember the smell?
I want to bring that experience to my amazing art students.
They will learn how to roll coils or snakes and make pinch pots and slabs to progress to other kinds of clay experiences in the art room.
This is a wonderful kinesthetic, hands-on experience for my students. They truly enjoy having access to the colorful Play-Doh.
