My Project

What makes my students special is their resilience, curiosity, and incredible spirit. I work with students who have autism, Down syndrome, emotional disabilities, multiple disabilities, or medical conditions that require home instruction. Each child learns in a unique way, and traditional methods often don’t meet their needs. What they respond to most is learning that is hands-on, visual, and fun—and that’s where art and play become powerful teaching tools.

This project will provide us with materials like Play-Doh, puzzles, games, and art supplies (markers, crayons, paints) that make learning both engaging and meaningful.

For example, Play-Doh helps students develop fine motor skills while giving them a calming sensory experience. Puzzles and games promote focus, teamwork, and problem-solving—all in a way that feels like play. Art supplies allow students to express their emotions, practice following directions, and strengthen hand-eye coordination. These tools are especially helpful for students who are nonverbal or need extra support to stay engaged.

My goal is to create a joyful, inclusive, and interactive learning environment where every student feels successful. I want my students to look forward to learning, to build confidence in their abilities, and to grow academically and socially at their own pace. With your support, I can turn each lesson into an experience that’s not just educational—but joyful, creative, and full of possibility.
