Play based Pedagogies for Collegiate Focused Students
I need to obtain professional learning in play based pedagogies and immersive technologies to continue developing my skills in these areas to expand my abilities as a teacher in these areas.
This semester I would like to take online professional learning courses that will help me to refine my abilities in teaching mixed reality technology within my visual arts classes as well as reach my various diverse student populations in my classroom. The classes will include immersive technologies, play based pedagogies and also a professional learning class for teaching exceptional education students. My students are very focused and often work with various forms of technologies but are interested in learning more about video game design and vide game programming and how art connects within it. Specifically, in the Graphics class I teach, being able to incorporate higher-level technologies surrounding gaming technology to help the students increase their critical thinking will be vital in helping them build their knowledge and academic capacity.
