My Project

Our PreK inclusion class is a vibrant group of curious and energetic learners. One of the most vital areas of our classroom is the dramatic play section, where our students engage in imaginative play, practice social skills, and develop their language and cognitive abilities. Through activities like cooking, cleaning, and role-playing, children learn essential life skills in a hands-on, interactive way.

Currently, we have been using the same kitchen set for many years – long before I became the teacher.

While it has served us well, the set is now showing signs of wear and tear. The furniture is starting to fall apart, with the top of the kitchen set coming loose, and our active, inquisitive children tend to lean against it, which has raised safety concerns. This outdated equipment is no longer safe for our students, and it is no longer providing the rich, engaging play environment they deserve.

We would love to replace the current kitchen set with a new, sturdy play range, sink, and fridge. These new items will not only enhance our dramatic play area but will also help our students engage in safe, enriching activities that support their social-emotional, cognitive, and language development. Dramatic play is crucial in our classroom because it provides a safe space for children to explore the world around them, practice problem-solving, and develop empathy and cooperation.
