My Students

I teach just under 500 students at least once a week for 50 minutes. Even though some may be shy, within minutes I have every student participating through singing, movement and instrument playing. I help make the music accessible to all my students.

Now that we are distance learning, it has become so clear that my students do not always have the supplies they need to be successful at home.

My students need basic school supplies but would love supplies that help enhance their learning. It has been difficult to teach my students online and I am hoping to help them make more music at home with their families.

I believe that music is the universal language. My students are able to communicate without words. Everyone is able to be successful in my classroom and with your help they can create, dance and play even more!

My Project

I have been trying to create play along videos for my students and it would be so helpful to have a stand for my phone so I can spend less time balancing my phone and more time creating content for my students.

I am always looking for new activities for students to do at home.

Teachers Pay Teachers has great activities that enhance the songs or books I am sharing remotely with my class. There is a bucket drumming bundle that I have been eyeing. This bundle has weeks of lessons and even a testing system so that the students can learn and test at home to move up levels. I love the idea of having students make music at home with found instruments in a cohesive curriculum.
