Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a very small town with a population of approximately 2,000 people. We are nestled in the Rocky Mountains, enjoy beautiful views and are surrounded by wildlife. We are hours away from big city life and enjoy life in a simple way.
My students enjoy a challenge, love setting goals, and like learning how to work together to achieve them.
The students I work with are talented, hardworking, team players, and they love learning. I work with a variety of students, including high needs, autistic students learning how to be in the general education setting and students who are gifted in regards to academics. I have students from many socioeconomic backgrounds who come from homes with different family situations.
This range of diverse students and personalities makes our learning environment a great place to grow from one another's experiences, and the students all have different experiences they bring to our classroom. My students are incredible at whatever they set their minds to and surprise me every day with how much they accomplish.
My Project
These materials will help stock our classroom with classroom games, a way to organize our reading materials and even crowns for students to wear on birthdays and half birthdays for those who have summer birthdays.
Learning through play will engage students, increase classroom morale, create a culture of working together, and foster students communicating with one another in productive ways.
It would be a wonderful opportunity to have students have resources that they are able to use with peers to have fun while learning valuable reading and mathematical skills they need to succeed. We are asking for a set of math games, reading games, a place to keep their books with the totes and a set of birthday crowns to spotlight each and every student and celebrate one another. Thank you for your time!
