My Students
My Kindergarten Crew this year is made up of 13 unique and enthusiastic learners! Each learner has it's own goals to work on, at their own unique learning and developmental levels. Some learners in my classroom are starting school with a focus on early learning skills such as learning colors, safety with body, learning to walk and developing first words. Others have goals to develop higher level thinking, reading and problem solving in all subject areas. And, of course, there is then a range of learners in between.
My learners have love, care, and passion for our world and for any new adventures in learning.
Each day brings smiles and excitement and baby steps toward reaching goals. Many learners in my school come from poverty. Some members of my class has significant special learning needs. Others have struggles with anxiety, speech, and fine and gross motor skills. We all are united in our desire to learn new things and meet our goals.
My Project
These toys and games will help bring play and real-life learning experiences to the learners in my classroom. The students will be able to make their own word name necklaces for a pretend store, send and deliver mail to family and friends, take care of our classroom stuffed animal collection, set up a store or restaurant, and more.
The integration of play with reading, writing, math, science, and social studies is essential to motivation and meaningful learning.
One unifying element in children's lives is play. Play is a learner's work. Play will bring our learning community together to learn and grow.
