Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our study of sculptural art, students will utilize the plaster and sculpting tools to create their own unique, three dimensional pieces of art inspired by the artist Barbara Hepworth! Our students are incredibly creative and they crave new experiences in the art room, especially in regards to 3D work!

Student artists LOVE getting in touch with their sculptural side; many have never had the opportunity to work with sculptural media before!

My goal for this project is to allow students the opportunity to mix, pour, carve and paint their plaster sculptures. To help create interesting, organic shapes within the sculptures, students will tape down balloons inside their boxes prior to pouring the plaster. Once dry, personal creativity will shine as artists carve and paint their artwork to their liking!
