My Students
I'm a lower elementary, Montessori-trained teacher within a public school. My students are curious, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. I am proud to be a part of an urban school district that offers Montessori education as an option to all families. It is amazing to see how my students can progress academically through this hands-on approach to learning.
My Project
In the Lower Elementary classroom, the focus of our science lessons is on living systems. A big part of this focus is the study of botany nomenclature, definitions, plant classifications, biomes, and ecosystems.
Students enhance their understanding of flowers, plants and trees by doing hands-on lessons and experiments.
In this project, I have selected a variety of age-appropriate research books about flowers, plants, and trees that can be used to supplement my students' lessons and research. I am also including a plant and flower press as well as six packages of sun sensitive paper to add some variety to our hands-on botany activities.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
