This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I have an exceptional group of fifth graders who have shown remarkable enthusiasm and dedication throughout the school year. I would like to provide my students with the opportunity to design and create their own plant pots for propagating our class spider plant. This hands-on project will not only enhance their understanding of plant biology but also encourage creativity and responsibility as they care for their plants.

I believe that fostering a sense of ownership in student learning experiences can significantly enhance their engagement and motivation.

Creating their own plant pots will allow them to express their individuality while simultaneously contributing to a shared classroom project. By engaging in this activity, students will learn about the growth process and the importance of nurturing living things. This is the perfect end to our upcoming Ecosystems unit!

As we approach the final months of fifth grade, I want to ensure that our time together is filled with meaningful and memorable experiences. This project, along with the cleaning supplies and classroom essentials, will not only serve as a creative outlet but also as a lasting reminder of their time in elementary school. I am excited to see the students' unique designs and witness their growth as they take part in this enriching activity.
