This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are intelligent, energetic, innovative, curious kinder and first graders in a very diverse community. They want what every 5 or 6 year old wants and that is to feel happy, safe, loved, and challenged.

Many of my students have socially and emotional challenges however continue to rise to use their mistakes as learning experiences.

Our school is a special education school that serves students with social and emotional "disabilities". My kiddos are typical children who like to engineer a skyscraper with Legos, become food critiques will enjoy a snack, daydream while swinging on the slide, persevering to problem solve ways to win playing tic-tac-toe, and practice using learned social skills to make new friends.

My Project

Our district has recently undergone some serious budget cuts and STEM materials are minimal or scarce, however we will be alright! By donating to our project you will helping to make a curious, energetic, and creative child learning about plants and animals a hands on experience. With these materials you will help a struggling reader learn new vocabulary, practice social appropriate behaviors in a collaborative environment, feed their desire to continue questioning and encourage independent problem solving techniques.

"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." I cannot wait to see my students faces as they watch their caterpillars grow and turn into butterflies.

As well as sequence the process of the butterfly, frog, or the lady bug life cycle.
