This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Earth Day is around the corner, and this is a perfect project to teach students environmental science by giving them the opportunity to grow their own plants. Doing this will allow our kids to learn what plants need to live, learn about the life cycle of plants as well as parts of plants. Also, this perfectly aligns with our upcoming plants and animals unit.

In Pre-K nothing is better than having actual hands-on experience in learning.

With your donation students will be able to cultivate a pretend flower garden, learn which insects live in a garden and plant grass seed to observe how a plant grows. Students will get to learn how to care for their plants and observe its growth daily and record their findings in a plant journal.

The terrarium kit will be utilized as a large group project that promotes cooperative learning as students must work together to create the terrarium. The kit comes with its own jar, seeds, and everything needed to grow a plant. At the end, students will use the tempera sticks to paint images of the plants they have grown. It's a great way for kids to tap into their creative side.
