My Students

Scientific research has saved and improved many lives. One day, a student from my science class just may do the same! Exploring the scientific process by investigating seeds is one way I will open the door of possibilities for 130 third grade scientists this year.

My third grade scientists are eager learners who greet each science lesson with enthusiasm and wonder.

As a group of 21st century students, they are faced with global competition as they prepare for the adult world. Exposure and relevance will give them an advantage as they begin to form ideas and dreams about higher education and their futures.

My Project

I am looking to enhance my seed lab with root-vue farms so students can observe seed germination, root development, and growth as it happens. With the "What Is It?" set of seeds, students will be able to hold and compare seeds as they explore the various methods of dispersal, rather than relying on photos or videos. Updated books will be a real-life example of how scientists today apply their research to the world by sharing their documentation in publications.

Relevance; it's what makes a science experiment meaningful.

When students can find relevance in what they study, they know how to apply new knowledge to everyday life. Help me make the study of seeds and plant reproduction relevant for our future scientists!
